Kerferd House
Green is the new black for this latest finished project. Whilst I vouch for this compact yet spacious layout, full credit goes to the clients who selected the delightful tiles, matching timber and white cabinetry, which really carry the wow factor.
The morning sun shines through the internal lead lights from the open front door, illuminating a sunny corner that is the welcoming daybed with recycled Messmate stained to match the kitchen recycled timber bench top. In this new extension that is set back to allow for an outdoor entertaining area to the north and for the winters solar access, there are views in every direction from kitchen hub, including when you look down, that eco bling of a polished concrete floor (30% cement replacement). The extension is almost the same size as the previously demolished portion, so the chooks and veggie garden will still play a big part of this family’s inner suburb living. Now re-orientated, and thermally massive and well insulated, this space houses more functionality and warmth. What you won’t see from the living areas are the bathroom, laundry and 2 wc discretely tucked away, yet very accessible.
I can’t wait to see how the client furnish their new home!
