French Country Foothill
Razed by wildfire, the original home’s only surviving feature was its foundation, which remained structurally sound. Built on that footprint, the new house highlights an upstairs master suite over a garage semi-detached from the main building by a breezeway, a required design that allows firefighters access to the property’s vegetated foothills if disaster ever strikes again. The home also features the very latest in fire safety, including sprinklers, tempered glass, stucco siding, a slate roof, and very little exterior wood.
