In this project a shady front yard with struggling lawn was morphed into a vibrant garden. A focus on multi-season interest is a key feature of the design, with handsome foliage plants, groundcovers and grasses providing a verdant canvas over which spring bulbs and long-blooming perennials are highlighted as pops of enthusiastic color. Fall foliage, berries and evergreen species help this garden's appeal extend well into wintertime. Small granite terraces incorporate local stone and provide a frame for the garden.
