Our clients purchased a beautiful classic home on the coast. They loved the location and exterior architecture, but the interiors were dated and lacked the relaxed vibe and modern amenities that they desired as a young family. Design and construction focused on rearranging floorplans and re-imagining the bright existing nautical décor. New interiors adopt an “old-world meets new” style, balancing the home’s traditional architecture with light-filled, streamlined spaces to take advantage of coastal vistas instead of overpowering them. A neutral color palette and organic material selections helped create seamless transitions as spaces were reorganized and updated. Throughout, lighter leathers, hard-working fabrics, and special floor sealers were used to ensure kid-friendly surfaces while meeting mom’s aesthetic.
