It started as a dark room with confusing proportions.

The owner's heirloom chair was reupholstered to compliment the whole room design and created a sweet respite in an awkward corner. A sanctuary in which to escape the bustle of the outside world (preferably in a comfy armchair, good book in hand).

This heirloom chair had lots of cherished history but very little impact. A facelift was desperately needed!

Before
The original layout of the bed made it impossible to fit a queen bed and left a lot of unusable space. Inexpensive wall scones just added gloom to a already dark room.

New wall moulding, sconces and luminous shades bring the light throughout the bedroom.

With a reconfigured room, each new item needed to be perfectly selected for scale and proportion. This lovely nightstand provided plenty of storage but gave the space a lightened feeling with its open shelves and pale cream palette. The owner's antique lamps are complimented by the custom drapery.
