As part of a interior renovation the homeowners wanted to add a deck to take advantage of their view of the bay. Cable rails help reduce the visual obstruction with simple posts. The decking material used is 5/4x6 IPE, a very dense tropical hardwood that weathers beautifully and is naturally resistant to rot. Inside we built a entertainment cabinet for the living room that houses the flat screen and has display space. In the kitchen the closed pantry was removed to make room for pantry cabinets and the addition of a wine fridge and wall ovens. The island was also reconfigured to accommodate seating to take advantage of the water views.
