Hills House

A large second floor addition with master suite plus additional bedroom was phase one of this project. Phases two and three included renovations on the main level - kitchen, study, guest room, bathroom.
Views, natural daylight and privacy drove various design decisions. Views of the San Francisco Bay propelled the chamfered angle of the upper floor. A large skylight over the new centrally located stair allows light to entry into the core of the house. Sufficient privacy while capturing hillside views in the master bath was solved with frosted glass on only the lower portion of the windows.
