Hillside Garden
Located in Connecticut, the design of the garden terrace negotiates the landscapes steep terrain through the installation of open traversing stone stairs. Seemingly isolated grass-carpeted terraces are created by systems of retaining walls, while tall hedges frame the periphery to accentuate the sweeping views of the lake below. In other less formal areas of the garden, the path down the hill is traversed by landscape steps that taper into the hillside.
