Located in a historic district of Old Saybrook, we designed an addition to the western side of this 1817 home. The porch provided relief from the harsh summer sun, and the small family room was expanded. I believe the results are very functional new spaces that blend in with the original architecture. Careful attention to detail and proportions were followed and received very favorable comments from the Historic Commission. This project also required a zoning variance because of its proximity to the street.
