Huntington Beach. CA
Located in the web of Huntington Beach's water canals, this large Robert A.M. Stern inspired three level home was completely renovated inside and out. Every square inch of the interior was touched by the design team, and every finish replaced. Special features were added such as curvilinear walls, a fully exposed wood and beam ceiling, and an interior elevator.
This Southern California Spanish style home has an elegant simplicity that reflects the owner's refined taste and preference for uncluttered spaces punctuated with sunny Mediterranean colors and original art.
All new furniture was selected with only one item retained….a comfy leather lounge chair belonging to the man of the house. The lower level of the home was turned into a game room with classic, collectible games, an original Coke machine and jukebox.
The owners - a couple who moor their boat a few yards from their home, wanted a space comfortable for their indoor/outdoor lifestyle of swimming, boating and entertaining, with enough space for guests and their visiting grown children.
Yet one easy to maintain-- especially with their frequent and often international travel.
The best feature of the home is the generous amount of natural light that floods the interior. It was a pleasure to bring this property back to life after years of
sitting dormant while the owners resided on the east coast.
