Kitchen of Light and Texture

A kitchen, atrium, living, office and entry update, this remodel took down a lot of walls and emphasized the playful characteristics already present in the home.

The original entry was both dark, and lacked privacy. We updated it to have a bright, lighter door-- and textured glass. We also refreshed the paint and light fixtures.

The kitchen before! During the remodel, we left the sink where it's seen here, but used the real estate from the greenhouse window to grain more counter space.

The view into the living room (and from the living room to the kitchen) was blocked by the refrigerator and the partial wall behind it. Remove that wall, as well as the soffits, rendered the room almost unrecognizable.

The wall on the with the slanted cladding backs up to the original refrigerator (all removed). The window seen in this photo leads to a small atrium that was originally an exterior space. During the remodel, it was converted to interior space.

The new refrigerator location is still accessible to friends and family, but it's now far enough from the main work spaces they can take in the view without being in the way. Having removed the soffits and lightened up the wall colors, the home is light and bright, and functional.
