This was a very exciting transformation of an outdated, cramped kitchen to an open space with a wow factor! The client wanted an airy, light space to include a kitchen, dining area, mudroom and yoga space with ample natural light. Space planning involved the removal of a wall between the kitchen and the unused formal dining room. By relocating the entrance door from the garage the kitchen area could be expanded and a spacious mudroom with ample storage and a space for yoga practice was created. The client's wish list for the kitchen included new appliances, lots of counter space, large drawers, an area for counter stools, appliance storage and a coffee station. The wooded backyard of this property demanded a panoramic view and called for a larger window above the kitchen sink. In addition to the client's wish list she loved the idea of a built-in buffet, pantry and broom closet in the dining area. Mirroring the wall above the buffet reflects the backyard view thru the French doors and visually expands the space. The overall transformation has created a meditative calming feeling and, as the client wished, this renovated space has now become the heart of the home.
