Designed by acclaimed Milwaukee architect Alexander Eschweiler, this home was once owned by the local university and was used as the chancellor's residence. Over the years the university had made attempts to modernize the home, including cosmetic renovations to the Kitchen. While the efforts were well intended, the changes did not properly respect Eschweiler's wonderful design. The new owners wanted a Kitchen that would pay tribute to other original areas of the home. Some pieces of the 1920's Kitchen did remain, and these were used as inspiration for the complete redesign and remodeling of the space.
