This was one of the original Rio Del Mar bungalows. The clients wanted to maintain the scale and intimacy of the architecture from that era. To achieve that, in the course of the extensive remodel, we reused the original barrel roof tiles and installed reclaimed timbers for the beams. Authentic Mexican tiles are used in steps and bathrooms. The interior walls are finished in real plaster. Windows have deep inset sills. The custom arbor is a stunning focal point of the exterior.
