Leroy's House
This beautiful old Italian had great bones but was neglected over the years both inside and out. The home was rich with original details like blue marble flooring, hand-detailed plasterwork and wooden casement windows. Even with the obvious charm, the 1960's kitchen, shag carpet, leaking roof and humidity from lack of central air had wreaked havoc. The landscaping was overgrown and was in such disarray, that little could be salvaged.
The goal of the renovation was to touch the entire home while preserving any original details and install new plumbing, wiring, and HVAC in the main home and guest quarters. In addition, an extra 2,000 square feet of interior living space (kitchen, master suite, and office), 2,000 square foot covered patio, 3-car garage and pool were to be added and seamlessly blended into the home. The decor is full of found objects and eclectic design to reflect the homeowners' travels and interest.
