This client had a 1960s home with the typical small kitchen with soffits and a narrow opening in the wall between dining and cooking areas. They wanted to open up the space and create a Mid-Century modern style Kitchen. We eliminated the built-in pantry, made the wall opening larger and removed soffits to create more space. We also relocated the appliances and added an island. Taking the cabinets to the ceiling and using floating shelves help to make it feel spacious. Wood flooring grounds the space and adds warmth and also hints at the appliance pulls, cabinet pulls and faucet which are all a brushed bronze finish. The beautiful Dusty Miller cabinet finish is earthy and has a natural feel. Bright white quartz countertops and matte finish tile backsplash brighten up the room. We love the way this space transformed!
