Transitional Kitchen in Akron 2025
This kitchen was originally quite tight and lacked functionality. The client wanted a more practical layout, specifically requesting that no appliance cutouts be placed in the island top. To achieve this, we opened up the wall between the kitchen and dining room, while partially closing the wall between the kitchen and living room. This allowed us to relocate the refrigerator and create a more open, efficient space. We also incorporated a dedicated coffee bar for added convenience and charm.
A new window was added behind the sink to bring in natural light and enhance the overall ambiance. The dark cabinetry provides a grounding element, while the floating shelves contribute to a more open and airy feel.
Matte-finish Cambria quartz countertops introduce a subtle texture, beautifully contrasted by the Blanco undermount sink in coal black. Stainless steel appliances complement the design and add a sleek, modern touch.
The transformation is dramatic—this space is now both stylish and highly functional.
