This client's kitchen was stuck in the 70s! A narrow, rather dark galley kitchen. They wanted to open it into the family room and expand into a dinette which was under used. The kitchen was cramped and did not accommodate two people working in it well. We removed the top part of the wall between the kitchen and family room creating an island with a raised bar. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed to bring in lots of light and openness to the space. We also added new built in cabinets on either side of the fireplace to match the kitchen cabinets. This space is now open, light and inviting.
