Our clients were looking to build a unique, comfortable, modern home when they purchased this lot in Moab, Utah. We needed to use materials that could withstand the extreme desert temperatures - from freezing snow to 100 degree scorching Summers. We worked with Studio Upwall Architects and Eco Logic Design Build to create this modern home with an aged metal roof and siding, as well as wood and stucco that will age and patina over time. We designed the interiors to be clean and simple, yet cozy and inviting. The radiant concrete floors provide plenty of heat, and the double height windows allow for amazing views of the surrounding red-rock cliffs. We knew we wanted to use the Gubi dining chairs and Noguchi pendant, and had some fun painting all interior doors with Sherman Williams Bold Brick to add a pop of color. We mimicked the surrounding landscape and chose a neutral color palette and materials that seemed natural to the desert.
