South Salt Lake Remodel

We were originally approached by our clients to help them breath some life into their pretty vanilla, builder-grade home. They like to entertain, and found that the layout of their space really was a hinderance to the flow - the staircase was right in the middle of the kitchen and living room.

Our full scope included new floors throughout, updating the kitchen, dining, and living rooms. We completely moved the staircase and provided new furnishings throughout. We renovated the hall bathroom and transformed an extra bedroom into an owner's en suite.

In the basement, we did a "to the studs" remodel that included poured concrete floors, updated bathrooms, a living room, and laundry room.

The showstopper element is the staircase that was quite the technical feat and features decorative cast concrete treads and a custom railing.

As far as the decor, we wanted to incorporate some of the owner's Mediterranean heritage. Some of the art is framed antique recipe's from her grandmother, as well as family heirlooms throughout. We tried to incorporate pops of color without making it feel too busy. There is still a restful presence to it all. We used Inkiostro Bianco wallpaper as a full mural to camouflage a door to cold storage in the basement. The kitchen island and bathroom vanity was by Benchmarc and construction and staircase was done by Kyzer Construction.
