Wasatch Hollows

We designed this home with a few factors in mind. First and foremost, it was important to all involved to honor the bones of this Craftsman bungalow. To this end, we kept the original door trim, hardwood flooring and window casings. However, we didn’t want to sink into a literal interpretation of this era, and struck balance and interest by integrating contemporary and mid century light fixtures, furniture, and art with pieces that lend texture, color, and pattern. It’s a family home, so it needed to feel safe, happy, and cozy. Art plays a big role - clean, modern, and elevated to slice through the craftsman aesthetic which can go dark, heavy and serious. Use of art and color throughout to provide levity.
