This North Carolina family searched high and low for a North Carolina Architect that "got" Modern Design. The found their guy. They wanted something different, a modern home with "as few walls as possible". The wish list described more outdoor spaces than indoor, and a challenging site with 30 feet of slope overlooking a golf course fairway. Program includes 5 on-suite bedrooms, 2-story open-plan living/kitchen space, home theater/bar area that opens to the courtyard and pool with outdoor kitchen, cabana and hot tub. Massive garage for displaying the historic car collection and built-ins everywhere for the well-traveled couple's book collection.
