HMH was tasked with transforming a dark 1980’s residence with a poor floor plan into a bright, functional living space. The original home had a small, outdated kitchen, an entry separated from the living room, a living room with no windows and a dining room that was difficult to access.
HMH removed several of the interior walls to create flow between rooms and created an elegant entryway and art gallery. The stair to the basement and laundry room were moved from the public areas to the rear of the house. The entry was relocated adjacent to the public rooms, and a careful repurpose of existing windows had minimum impact to the exterior of the home while allowing more light inside.
