This transitional coastal home is in a prestigious coastal community overlooking a golf course. It features a more traditional architectural genre, which the client wished to contemporize. Our design challenge was to “update” the interiors and furnishings while maintaining the original architectural shell, and provide a more contemporary environment that was current, warmer and more relaxing and inviting for entertaining.
A new color pallet re-invented the space and painting out the crown molding to match the wall color helped it disappear. New furniture throughout was introduced and oriented towards “conversation groupings” and highlighted with bold accent colors. Window coverings were replaced with new motorized solar shades to control the strong Southern exposure. Fabrics throughout were selected in a more current and neutral pallet balanced with accents of cinnabar and jade.
