Montecito Hedgerow

This was a true transformation from ordinary to extraordinary. We removed all of the lawns except a tiny lawn area in the back for the client's Corgi. Drought tolerant doesn't need to be succulents and desert plants. It can be lush and green, We also needed to create a garden that was non toxic for her lovely dog. We constructed a large DG courtyard to replace the lawns. The addition of two gas fire pits create two cozy sitting areas. The planting border is fruit trees, lavender, culinary herbs, Olive trees, lemon verbena, Shasta Daisy, pentas, nepeta and teucrium. In the shade of the oaks we planted native Oakleaf Hydrangea, pittosporum, camellias and white hydrangeas. Raised beds were constructed for herbs, veggies and cutting flowers. A border of culinary herbs, thyme, sages and bay laurel abound in other parts of the garden and the addition of a fountain by the dining table completed the look and ambience for alfresco dining year round.
