“Nature Painted Memories”
What started as a simple landscape renovation, transformed into multi-phased garden spanning the entire property. We first met this homeowner in 2012. As with most clients we run into, the desire for a low-maintenance landscape is prevalent. However, that was definitely not the case here. The owner’s wife was an avid gardener. When not tending to patients in the ER, she spent her spare time surrounded by the soothing space of her natural refuge. She wanted a new landscape that would be soft and flowing; ultimately an inspiration from the majestic impressionist work of Claude Monet.
Despite her sudden passing in late 2012, her husband continued her legacy of love of the outdoors. With the help of our designers, we transformed the back yard into a memorial garden and bird habitat that would aid in his healing and stand as a remembrance of his beloved wife. This landscape embodies many elements, including various seating areas for different vantage points of the garden, curved pathways, focused views from the master bedroom, a bubbling basalt stone water feature, bird feeders, and many flowering and ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennials. The plantings not only burst with color and seasonal interest, but also serve as a habitat and food source to the local birds and wildlife; a true work of art.
