Newton Tudor
This brick, tudor-style home sits within Newton Center Historic District. The quarter acre site provided great opportunities for outdoor living but the usable space was confined to a small bluestone terrace sandwiched between the house and garage. A dilapidated greenhouse and shed were removed and the brick garage relocated and expanded to open up the site. A new granite paver driveway was installed and appears more courtyard than parking area. Custom fencing surrounds the perimeter of the backyard and separates the garden and parking court. The clients enjoy sitting on the round terrace of weathered stone adjacent to the pond with the towering oak trees shading them while the waterfall provides soothing restful sounds which drown out traffic noise from the busy street out front. A small cutting garden, a border of lilacs and curving lawn complete the serene landscape.
