This small Gables kitchen was ready for an update. It was very dark and closed off from the dining area, so we opened the wall to create a more open floorplan. Fresh white shaker style cabinets from Medallion lay the foundation for a more transitional space. We installed new porcelain flooring in both the kitchen and adjacent mud room/pantry space. The white marble backsplash and quartz countertops lend support for a brighter, calm kitchen. We also added a pendant over the sink as well as new LED undercabinet and recessed lighting to help keep the space light and bright. The backsplash outlets have been removed and replaced with undercabinet power strips to produce a cleaner, less busy look. We also created a built-in blackboard for family communications. We selected dark bronze cabinet hardware and pendant light as an accent to break up some of the white.
