TMS principal architect, Robert Carty, recently finished work on this beautiful North Shore estate. The home was originally built in the 1890's and an addition was added for staff in the 1920's. This addition was somewhat renovated in the 1980's but in Rob's words, ""it was horrific, this was the section of the house that was used most frequently and it didn't even have its own entrance! Family members had to use the distant front door and meander through cramped halls and a formal dining room to finally arrive in the family room/kitchen section of the home. Precious little attention had been paid to the magnificent views so my mandate was to create an entry and open the house up to the outside. Working with Windover Construction of Manchester, MA and Cebula Design of Newburyport, MA., the team produced a remarkable transformation, melding the formality of the original home with the richly detailed new addition."
