Our firm was asked to design a year-round seaside home for a client in York, Maine. The site, an elevated rocky ledge overlooking the ocean and the Nubble Lighthouse, presented numerous challenges and needed extensive preparation. The design resulted in a floor plan consisting of three levels plus a sub-basement. Virtually every living space has a view of the ocean and capture breathtaking views of the lighthouse. The family's concept called for a home which would consist of five bedrooms, spaces for formal entertaining, a large centralized kitchen, and multiple casual areas for entertaining. An elevator, a wine cellar and multiple utility spaces were also included in the final plans.
