The objective with this project was to create a whimsical garden in a challenging site. Comfortable spaces were needed to unwind and gather with family as well as active spaces for children on a small site.

The patio room is the first in this series of small spaces – created with the placement of serviceberry, yews, and a soothing fountain for atmosphere. A glimpse of a bench leads you down a path where you encounter the next outdoor room. The space focuses on a statue in the terminus of a spiraling stone feature surrounded by a perennial garden that provides color through the seasons.

As the path continues, it leads through an arbor leading to the hydrangea room. This room fills with blue tufts during the summer complementing the artwork on the walls of the home.
