Picture Perfect Retreat

How do you take a 9' x 18' rectangular space and create a spectacular view in any direction you look: Double mahogany doors lead to the space. A large picture window above the tub provides a view of the wooded backyard. The roll-shade provides privacy when needed. Since the space was narrow and long, we dropped the shower pan for a curbless shower. We used a removable teak insert in the shower to cover the drain and level the floor. A frameless glass partition wall was used on either side of the tub. The ceiling was dropped on either side of the center isle - and a wood-grained tile climbs up the back wall, over the top of the tub and runs through to the entryway.
A veined travertine tile made of porcelain insure easy to care for surfaces. A large wood shelf behind the tub was inset into the wall - and it provides a place to set a candle or glass of wine while bathing.
