Woodland Retreat
Three-Story Steel-framed Pavilion is built on a ravine lot with the help of an 80-ton crane that hoisted steel over the house and set it in place in the backyard. The massive wood-burning fireplace is clad in Tennessee field stone and gray granite. The clerestory window allow light to filter in, helping to keep the interior bright and inviting. Overhead cables are both structural and decorative as they keep the chandeliers from swaying in the wind. Large-scale bluestone pavers are used underfoot.
