The neighborhood of Pump Hill, Calgary, is a well established, mature community. The clients are of a European background and were looking for a few updates for their beautiful home that would reflect their taste for a clean, modern, simple look. We refinished the railings on their curved stairway and continued it upstairs, in the sitting area above the dining room. The railings were made from maple wood, custom stained and shaded, to even out the color.
The dining room now has a one of a kind cabinet/buffet. To create a cleaner look, the cabinets have touch latches instead of handles. The center opening has a marble top and mirror back that nicely reflects the recessed LED lighting.
These few changes brought a bit of contemporary touch to this space.
