Raymar Bath

The Raymar Bath design solution began by thoroughly understanding the homeowner’s wish list as well as the existing mechanical limitations. The following amenities were requested:
(1) a larger and more accessible shower space, (2) his and her sinks, (3) a private toilet room and (4) updated fixtures and modernized aesthetics. There were two mechanical limitations. First, the toilet was required to remain near the existing location based on waste stack proximity and floor joist layout. Second, the steam radiator (below the existing window) was to remain to provide necessary heating.

In efforts to maximize the new bathroom space the existing closet/dressing function was relocated into the oversized bedroom. This allowed the bath area to be doubled. A full-length mirror occurs at the entry to the space. A long vanity with two sinks stretches wall-to-wall allowing the radiator to be strategically hidden while providing additional storage. Adequate venting was provided by utilizing decorative metal screens at the toe kick and at the countertop above unit. The existing toilet was rotated 90 degrees and positioned at the end of the room for privacy. And finally, a spacious shower occurs opposite the vanity with a frameless glass enclosure, which further increased the perceived volume of the space.
