At our first visit to the home, the homeowners had loose pieces of plywood laid over exposed floor joist. They were victims of the catastrophic flooding Louisiana suffered in August of 2016. The kitchen was small and lacked function. We transformed the layout by taking in a small bedroom that was located where the breakfast area is currently. Not only did this allow the kitchen to turn and sit comfortably in the new space but it also allowed us to add full height windows that welcome light and provide a tremendous view of the pool and outdoor entertainment area. The entire space has been grounded by gorgeous reclaimed post and beams which are accented by the natural finished wood floor and ceiling. A small wine nook under the staircase adds yet another unique touch. Wood pieces are not the only things reclaimed in this home. The homeowners have now reclaimed their home and their normal lives.
