The Nesting Place
After an isolated kitchen fire, this young family's gathering space was destroyed. The home owners decided that it was time to make some much needed improvements. The kitchen was separated from the living by a wall that ran through the middle of the current island. By removing that wall and several others, previously located where the post and beams sit now, the space became much more functional and inviting. It is important to note that when walls are removed, homes often loose their defined spaces, which are needed to help focus the eye. In this remodel we maintained individual spaces by exposing beams and placing post at key corners of each room. The entry area is a great example of how we accomplished this.
