Client's basement stairs had no guard railing and a safety issue with little kids. Also if we added a guard railing permanently they would not be able to get furniture and appliances up and down. I suggested a removable railing that is light and easy to remove. Three points to unscrew and railing comes off within a minute. We also added a side skirt to help with the removable design and handled the deaded carpet wrap over. This system can be removed and re-installed by one person.
