This expansive kitchen had great potential but lacked any function or personality. The homeowners desperately wanted to create a space that would be grand for entertaining a large company yet cozy enough to have an intimate dinner for two. We decided on Kraftmaid's Rustic Alder door in Husk for the cabinetry and used Netuno Bordeaux granite for the countertops. We worked with the space to showcase tall ceiling by playing with different cabinet heights. We changed the appliances layout completely by placing a slide in range as a focal point of the back wall and moving the refrigerator onto the wall facing the windows. Large island serves dual purpose of a prep area as well as a dining table and can easily accommodate 5 people. We've also created a wine area to the left of the refrigerator so that entertaining the guests is a breeze. This rustic, yet elegant kitchen is now ready for a party!
