The kitchen in this 80's ranch house was closed off from the living space and our goal was to open it up. By removing a wall between the kitchen and the living room we were able to create a more open layout with enough room for an expansive island. We decide to keep existing flooring and simply added another wood element by bringing in an architectural beam. The design of the new kitchen is simple but the space is highly functional.
