Rustic Revised

This beautiful living room space not only boasts an open concept, it also frames their beautiful backyard. The initial color palette was tans and yellows with built-in speakers and a fireplace where the mantle left several feet of empty square footage above it.

These empty nesters are all about family, entertaining and quiet comfort. To achieve their goals we removed the built-ins and put a fresh coat of paint on the walls, built up the fireplace wall and added brick and an original barnwood mantle, and shopped for all new furniture, fixtures and finishes.

To ground their seating arrangement we went with a dark walnut on their sofa and over-sized chair, layered cozy pillows, introduced a coffee table, side tables and a sofa table with wood and metal and a textured area rug. Being mindful of their beautiful view we went with lamps with an open base, a leaning mirror that is relaxed and bounces around the natural lighting and a proportionately scaled wall clock with the same continuity and color palette. After adding several family photos this space went from house to home!
