Sea Pearl

Dull cabinetry, cracked tiled countertops, mismatched appliances and dated floral wallpaper on every wall, made this Mountain View home feel like a dreary dollhouse. The existing home sported an inefficient layout which included a cramped kitchen cut off from the rest of the house and a dingy vaulted ceiling with inadequate lighting made the space feel claustrophobic and less than inviting.

The homeowners wanted to maximize space and function and return the home’s architectural charm. By taking down the walls that closed off the kitchen, living room, and dining room, we created an open floor plan that would be ideal for entertaining and family gatherings.

The new open layout includes a large contrasting colored island with a granite countertop, modern stainless steel appliances, subway tile backsplash that includes various shades of neutral grays that pop against the classic white custom cabinetry. A new ceiling high fireplace surround adds drama to the fireplace wall and gives the space that wow factor. New patio doors and large window usher in natural light, making the entire space softer and lighter, welcoming guests and homeowners to gather in the newly remodeled sunny space.
