Clients wanted to double the square footage of their existing 1,300 sq. ft. 3 bedroom rambler to account for their young growing family. Lot did not allow for expanding, plus they would have lost valuable back yard play space. So the natural expansion direction was up. It also mitigated some of the strict zoning codes dealing with the disturbance of ground.

The three ground floor bedrooms where opened up and converted into one master guest suite, and one stairway, while enlarging the existing living room.
