For this busy five-member family, the goal was clear: transform their existing kitchen and laundry room into a highly functional, modern space with bold personality and effortless day-to-day usability. The original layout had a wall dividing the kitchen and dining room with a tiny seating zone that didn’t accommodate socializing and family time. The ceiling was low and the whole kitchen was paneled in dark wood, By opening up the walls and exposing the beams the kitchen became airy and allowed for flow around the work zone and a smooth transition to the dining area, while allowing with large seating zone at the island.
To accommodate multiple cooks and multiple meals each day, two kitchens were created - one that is focused around cooking and entertaining, while a smaller, softer kitchen focused on storage and back up appliances for prep

A Modern Refresh With Bold Color + High Performance
The main kitchen design centers around a saturated blue glass backsplash, tall the kitchen cabinets were made of glass fronts, giving it a modern sleek and functional look. Stainless appliances and quartz waterfall counters further enhance the sleek functionality. Warm wood ceilings balance contemporary lines creating a soft and inviting atmosphere.

The second, storage kitchen echoes the blue theme but the cabinets are painted in and in a much lighter blue color, lending it a softer feel that is a perfect segway to the yellow laundry with the daisy tile backsplash. This transition from super sleek to a softer wood cabinetry created a cohesive design language across the home.
