The original bathroom was compartmentalized by a series of closets as one entered the space with a vanity, tub/shower and toilet adjacent. The design vision was to create an open plan and unify the space. Calcutta marble was used to realize the client’s overall vision with the soft veining in the stone and wood helped to warm the space.
Upon entering, the eye is drawn to the tub that is centered with the water closet and shower symmetrically placed on either side. The shower itself does not have a dam but instead has a hidden shower drain to help provide a more modern feel.
The vanities are wall mounted and topped with an oversize counter edge detail. Although the property is secluded, motorized shades were used on the outside of the room for true privacy.
The final result is a contemporary bathroom with a clean, sophisticated and timeless feel.
