Snoqualmie Valley View Home

A remodel is often about more than a design. Sometimes, it’s also an exploration of how strategic updates to a space can reshape daily life. For this homeowner, reimagining their dark and dated home wasn’t only about finding a fresh style — it represented a new chapter in life and an opportunity to create a home that could adapt and respond to change as they raised their family.

Throughout the home, there was a feeling of division. Each space felt disconnected: compartmentalized without a cohesive style, color palette, or concept to relate them to each other. Outside, space and views were underutilized.

New life was breathed into the home with a fresh perspective centering on practicality, efficiency, and style consistency. The common goal was “out with the old, in with the new” to create a sense of calm where the space had felt chaotic.

The backyard is the highlight of the home, with sweeping views of the Snoqualmie Valley. Here, the homeowner wanted comfortable spaces ideal for gathering and recreation.

The fully covered patio space serves as a self-contained outdoor room designed for year-round comfort. Automatic roll-up screens effortlessly keep sun and rain off gatherings, while a cozy fire table adds a touch of warmth on cooler evenings.

Areas for lounging, dining, grilling, and cooking offer flexible solutions for gatherings of all sizes. Just behind the outdoor lounge, a new sport court provides opportunities to recreate for three growing teenagers and their friends.

Lush plantings help to shield the outdoor lounge from the pool area, and frame the views to the Snoqualmie Valley, which feels like an extension of the backyard.

Inside, the kitchen concept centers on a classic palette of rich blues, fresh whites, and brass accents in a contemporary arrangement. The spacious central island provides plenty of surface area for kitchen prep while being attractive enough for casual dining. Storage space is abundant, and chef-ready appliances — including a full-height wine fridge — allow for easy hosting, no matter the occasion. Large windows add bright, natural light and connect the space to the updated backyard beyond. Streamlined globe pendants replaced outdated fixtures that kept the space feeling dark

Just off the foyer, the updated powder room maintains a cohesive feel with nearby kitchen with its deep blue vanity, but the small space also adds a moody identity, thanks to its wealth of texture.

Upstairs, an all-new primary suite features a spa-like bathroom perfect for the self-care-centered experience the homeowner hoped to achieve. Cool gray flooring and gray marble countertops contrast warm wood and fixtures.

Plenty of storage in the double vanity and linen cabinet ensure the space can remain calm and uncluttered. A white soaking tub sits tucked into the bay window where it shines in the natural light, contrasting the moody, dark stone of the enclosed glass shower.

For this remodel, updating the kitchen alone would have added functionality and fresh style. But by approaching the project holistically, a dated, disjointed house was transformed into a harmonious living space that celebrates its natural surroundings and encourages connecting with others. With custom touches these updated spaces offer a place where this family can build lasting memories together.
