Southern Farmhouse Kitchen

This home features a beautiful lake setting, and when the house was built about 25 years ago, the kitchen was placed in the center of the house with no view. Understandably, the homeowners wanted to take advantage of their placement, and give the kitchen to a view of the lake.
We moved the kitchen to the back wall and installed an eyebrow window with a bump-out gable above the new kitchen window. We vaulted the ceiling and added exposed stained beams for structure. The light-painted cabinets contrast well with the wood floors and granite countertops. The kitchen features stainless appliances and custom glass cabinet doors with backlighting and decorative hanging fixtures over the breakfast island in the middle of the kitchen. There is a passageway to the formal dining room which displays the owner’s china and crystal in backlit cabinets.
