St. Pete Beach Home
The owners wanted a home with good structure, energy efficiency, and low maintenance. They wanted to keep the interior simple so it can be adapted as their children grow and the needs of their family change. The structure is reinforced masonry on both living floors. Hardie Color-plus siding was applied over two x four furring strips to create the beach cottage appearance. We applied a waterproofing layer over the block and under the furring to create a rain screen/drainage plane. The home is in a flood elevation with ground floor parking and storage. It is in a hurricane zone so all the windows and doors are impact rated. It has a galvalume standing seam roof. The home has three bedrooms including the master. The bedrooms are on the upper floor. The main living floor has a greatroom/livingroom/kitchen area and an office/guestroom.
