Suburban Modern

A sloping lot at the end of a cul-de-sac in a traditional suburban neighborhood is the site for this modern sustainable residence. Strategic siting and efficient design allowed this home to be built affordably. The first and second floors contain 2240 square feet of heated area with an open, vaulted living space at its core. The slope of this wooded site also accommodated a walk-out basement. The vaulted ceilings, custom fireplace, and open stair railing create a sculptural entry while maintaining a warm, inviting, and intimate tone to the home. A large bank of windows and high transoms flood its interior with natural light and take advantage of great views through the trees to a creek below. On the exterior, these views are further engaged with ample outdoor living space on both the main living and basement levels.
