This landscape project encompasses the front yard and approach to the house in a more public setting as well as a private, serene backyard garden. The plant types are layered in front of the house as the path slopes up towards the entry. Groundcovers, gravel and grasses are interspersed, with figural plants such as aloe and agave puncturing the field of lower elements. In the back, an amphitheater sits within the tranquil garden. Within the steps, tufts of Korean Grass form a softer stair. The steps relate to the geometry of the house, and turn into the fountain. Water descends from the boulders above, as the fountain joins the more organic forms to the rectilinear concrete elements. Layering is once again employed at the back of the garden to form a tiered green wall composed of stone and plants.
